*While this part is a drop in fit in many pistols, gunsmith fitting may be required on some guns. The .200" (nominal) diameter pin is typically bigger than your factory unit (they tend to run .195-.199") and may not fit into the frame hole. The larger diameter pin can create a tighter lockup with the barrel's lower lugs, sometimes such that the gun will not go into battery without gunsmith fitting.
**A popular question is "will this fit in my XXX 1911." As above, every single 1911 will be a little different, and may or may not require gunsmith fitting.
***This part was the OEM slide stop for the Staccato 2011's from 2018-2020, and their current slide stop has a similarly shaped lever. As much as we'd like to sell you a slide stop, you may not gain much from fitting a 10-8 slide stop to a current Staccato. Further, the Staccato factory machines the barrel lugs to the slide stop in your gun, so that they are dimensionally matched for optimum lockup and accuracy. You cannot simply drop in a new slide stop into your Staccato, and doing so may likely result in a fit inferior to the factory's work. For users new to the 1911/2011, the slide stop is to be depressed with the support hand during the reload, and this lever does not extend to the rear to make your gun like a Glock.

Fits all 1911 pattern pistols, including Govt/Commander/Officer sizes and 2011/Caspian/Para double column frames. Also fits Springfield EMP, which will accept the 9/.38/.40 versions.
.45 ACP version has .200" lobe protrusion.
9mm/.38/.40 version has .220" lobe protrusion. **All calibers other than .45 will use 9/.38 slide stop**
Machined from bar stock and heat treated.
Carbon steel version has matte black phosphate finish.
Stainless Steel version has matte bead blast finish.

10-8 Gen 2 Slide Stop
Just like ALL 10-8 products, the Gen 2 Slide Stop is executed perfectly in design and performance. I have used 10-8 products since they started up as a company and they never disappoint. I was running into issues with the factory Colt slide stop in my 9mm 1911 Government Model in which I was getting intermittment fail to lock the slide back on Colt magazines. I watched Hilton's 1911 video and heard his explanation on how the 10-8 Slide Stopwas designed and why it was better than a factory stop. So instead of hacking up the factory stop and most likely making the situation worse, I ordered the 10-8 stop. Fixed the issue immediately with no mods made by me! Hilton's experience really shows through the design input of his products. I have been and will be a lifelong customer of 10-8 Performance!

1911 45ACP - Slide Stop, Gen 2
Fits perfectly on my Springfield 1911 .45ACP. High quality part and much easier to press down than the stock slide release. Must have upgrade!

Good design
This product was very well thought out all of the edges are cut at a radius so there’s Less chance of fracturing. There was enough material for me to cut the tab down a little bit. I don’t like things to extend out to far out on my pistols

Outstanding product
Improves look of pistol especially with the EGW thumb safety. Did require fitting to install but after 5 mins filing in the right spots it works flawless.

Quality replacement for MIM junk
Bought this part in hope of tightening the lockup on my S&W E series 1911. The stock part was .195 and really loose. The 10-8 stop is dead on .200, so I got .0025 tighter. Unfortunately, I still had a soggy lockup, and resorted to a slightly longer link to tighten it up and fix the 10-12" high impacts at 25 yds. A new barrel is in my future, I suppose.

Superb product that lives up to its advertisement.
Replaced the MIM stop on my SIG two tone ultra carry. This fits perfectly and the SS color exactly duplicates the SIG SS. Installs easily and eliminates the problem with the idiot scratch. Forged parts far better than MIM. Finally, a product that works as advertised. I'll be back for more 10 8 parts.

100% perfect
Comparing to the OE MIM part is really unfair, as the 10-8 piece is in a whole different class. Perfectly machined, well finished and a perfect fit. An extra peace of mind and better "ledge" for activation too.
