*While this part is a drop in fit in many pistols, gunsmith fitting may be required on some guns. The .200" (nominal) diameter pin is typically bigger than your factory unit (they tend to run .195-.199") and may not fit into the frame hole. The larger diameter pin can create a tighter lockup with the barrel's lower lugs, sometimes such that the gun will not go into battery without gunsmith fitting.
**A popular question is "will this fit in my XXX 1911." As above, every single 1911 will be a little different, and may or may not require gunsmith fitting.
***This part was the OEM slide stop for the Staccato 2011's from 2018-2020, and their current slide stop has a similarly shaped lever. As much as we'd like to sell you a slide stop, you may not gain much from fitting a 10-8 slide stop to a current Staccato. Further, the Staccato factory machines the barrel lugs to the slide stop in your gun, so that they are dimensionally matched for optimum lockup and accuracy. You cannot simply drop in a new slide stop into your Staccato, and doing so may likely result in a fit inferior to the factory's work. For users new to the 1911/2011, the slide stop is to be depressed with the support hand during the reload, and this lever does not extend to the rear to make your gun like a Glock.
Our second generation slide stop is an all original design that is totally reengineered to provide you a whole new level of functionality.
- Unique pad shape that only protrudes approximately .050" more than a GI style, but with a ledge shape that provides a more positive shelf for manipulation

- Engagement surfaces optimized for positive lockback
- Geometry improves slingshot slide release during reloads
- Design improves detent spring pressure to minimize chance of premature lockback

Gen 2 slide stop, 1911 fiber optic front sight and Low Mount 1911 rear sight;Installed a gen 2 slide stop on one of my 1911’s and I’m really happy with it, good quality slide stop all around. Also bought a 1911 fiber optic front sight and the Low Mount U notch rear sight to install as a pair. Little bit of fitting as expected but not much, very nice quality made 1911 sights for a great price. Fast shipping as well. Will definitely be buying more from 10-8, they offer quality parts at a great price, thank you 10-8!!!!!Joey
1911 Slide stopWish I would have seen this sooner.. it will go in every 1911 from now on.. great part for the money!Dave cain
Slide stopBest slide stop there is.. have on all my 1911sCS
Great partProvides a nice, tight fi in my gun. It’s a definite improvement over the factory slide stop.Brent
Gen. 2 Slide StopI think I have three of these on guns now. Quality of finish and design is evident. The shape/size of the pad allows me very positive contact to release slide with my trigger finger (lefty). I also like the bevel that makes for quick/no scratch re-assembly. The .200" pins required some minor fitting or tightened up barrel differently on each gun. Nothing wrong with other machined high quality slide stops, but the features on this make me prefer it.nyle c wiren
Slide stopIt is a great product and is better than the factory Staccato. I wish you had an extended slide release as well. It is hard to find them for 2011 in 9mm.Michael Grasso
Gen 2 Slide StopI’m pretty picky when it comes to buying my parts because I want something I’m only buying once. I bought an EGW HD slide stop for my newest 2011 build. I wasn’t crazy about the fact that it didn’t come all the way to the other side of the frame or the fact that the thumb tab was very short. The ridges on it were great though. I called EGW and they recommended the 10-8 slide stop. I ordered it and it showed up in 3 days! I took it out and dropped it right into my pistol. Absolutely perfect! The pin sticks out the other side of the frame just enough to be able to push it out when disassembling the firearm. The thumb tab is considerably bigger without being obtrusive when holding the pistol and makes dropping the slide infinitely easier. Ridges are just as sharp as the EGW. This will be the slide stop I buy for every 1911/2011 I build.Jason
gen 2 slide stopSlide stops are not a necessary upgrade and there are 5 other manufactures making the same thing and I've never experienced a malfunction related to a slide stop. That being said, these Gen2s are pretty sweet. It has this gently increasing stairs that visually hide the fact that it is a paddle and the bottom is flat which make administratively locking the slide back easier. It is generally more attractive than other options on the market.richard tapert
slide releasewon't lock back on last round or empty mag.
