Description

UPDATE 06/01/25: THIS PRODUCT IS NOW DISCONTINUED AND OUR INVENTORY DEPLETED.

The 10-8 Performance magazine catch for the Staccato 2011 Gen2/3 grip modules features a unique 30lpi serrated curved button surface for positive activation. The curved button surface matches the contour of your thumb pad when the pistol is rolled over for a reload, and the serrations provide improved traction over the smooth factory unit. Overall length of the button protrusion, as measured at the longest part, is the same as the factory unit. This is NOT an extended length/width button. Face of the serrated button features a machined bevel to improve user comfort during handling and carry.

Fits ONLY Staccato 2011 double stack models with Gen2/3 grip modules (P, P DUO, XC, XL, C2, C2 DUO). Does NOT fit legacy grip modules, aftermarket metal grip modules, single stack models (legacy/discontinued C, C DUO, R). DOES NOT FIT STACCATO v3 guns such as the CS or 2024 C.

  • Gen2/3 Grip Modules can be identified by the molded texturing and the star logo on the lower portion of the side of the grip.
  • Gen1/Legacy Grip Modules may have the tree bark texturing or double diamond molded checkering, as well as the faux grip screw at the bottom half of the grip. This catch IS NOT compatible with these modules.

Machined from hardened 4140 bar stock, with black oxide (blue) finish. Magazine catch only.

Requires factory Staccato Gen2 mag catch lock, NOT INCLUDED (and not sold by the factory - use the one that's IN your Gen2 grip module).

If you're retrofitting your existing gun, you will be reusing the factory catch lock and spring.

These parts are made to the original STI/Staccato Gen2 mag catch factory spec, but due to variances in the molded grip module and production changes, this part may be a bit sticky in your grip module. Here are a few trouble shooting steps:

  1. Ensure that the new mag catch (with no spring/catch lock) fits smoothly in the grip module.
  2. Check that the mag catch spring tunnel is clean - use a toothpick or paper clip to clear the tunnel, and then a pipe cleaner or compressed air to finish up.

    Staccato gen 2 mag catch

Built a custom 2011 Commander and needed a mag release of this style. Drop in part with no fitting required.

    2011(double stack) metal mag release

Outstanding workmanship! Just remember to order the spring and locking screw. The mag release purchase only comes with the body. The internals must be ordered separately.

    Mag Catch

Fits very well. Smooth function. Took a few coils of the spring to get it the way I liked it. Would buy again.

Magazine Catch for Staccato 2011 Gen2 Double Stack

Great product, easy to install. Provides a comfortable feel with a smooth magazine release.

    Not terrible

Has to be fitted in the grip, it catches on the beginning press and makes it already hard for the hard press. I also think the angle that's on it should be reversed. I would have returned both things in my purchase but they were opened already and per their policy I can't return them.

    10-8 Staccato Mag Release

Just want to say thank you. I have installed on my C2 and my P WHAT A DIFFERENCE. The only thing I can say bad about Staccato is I had a difficult time manipulating the mag release but you all came to the rescue and delivered a superb product. Thank you Steve Noonan

    Staccato Gen 2 Mag Catch

Exactly as advertised. Simple drop-in installation. However, please read the description closely. Two things of note. There are 2 different grips in Gen 1 & Gen 2. Make sure you know which grip your gun uses. These parts are not interchangeable. Second, this is the catch only. You must use the spring & key from your current magazine catch. Also note, that the Gen 2 does not have the standard 1911 key that uses a flat blade to install. The Gen 2 grip in my Staccato C2 used a 1/16" hex wrench to turn the key. Hilton is very clear about these differences in the description of the magazine catch. But it's easy to think they are all the same. The serrations on the catch are perfect and help drop the magazine easier and faster. Very pleased.

    Works But Came Dirty

Product came with sand deep inside the button area as if left over from sandblasting. Installed and realized that button would not depress smoothly. Had to disassemble and clean thoroughly. Works now as advertised.

    Staccato mag. Catch

Wrong catch, is not for a Staccato Gen 2 gun.

Magazine Catch, Staccato 2011, Gen2 Double Stack

The part is a quality build, fit well, and is a big improvement over the factory catch. The serrations make it easier to use. I would recommend that everyone install it on their gun.
