The chisel end of the tool can be used to pull the 1911 extractor from the slide without scratching the finish. Some extractor hooks are wide enough to catch the breech face during removal. Use the chisel tip of the tool to push the hook past the breech face without any risk of marring the parts. Use the flat blade end of the tool to pop the safety plunger back in during installation of the thumb safety. Armorer Tool Armorer Tool

    1911 tool

What a truly nifty design for this 1911 tool. I can tell a great deal of thought went into it. What can I say? It works!

    Handy

It’s really a handy tool when reinstalling the 1911 thumb safety. Don’t know how I lived without it. I’m sure I’ll find other uses.

Excellent tool that you find yourself using more and more. Should have bought about 6 of them because I use them all over the place.

    Armorer Tool review

Tool seems tough and well designed. I have found quite a few uses for it. But at almost $20 ( tool cost plus shipping ) I believe I could find something else to use in its place. Handy item, too costly.

    10-8 Armorers Tool

The 10-8 Armorers Tool is very versatile. I use it on my 1911's and 2011's. It's great for sort of prying your safety loose without marring your frame. Great for slipping under the safety to press the safety retaining spring in place,

    armorers tool

Love them, have 6, black & tan, I think a high visibility color would work good, easier to find in tool box or on the floor when it goes flying. Vibrant green, mellow yellow,j cherry red.

    10-8 Armorer tool

A very solid, well made tool that doesn't mar my pistol.

    Armorer Tool (Tool-FDE)

Used the Armorer Tool to aid in replacement of ambidextrous thumb safety on my Kimber Raptor II 1911 handgun. Used one end to aid in leveraging the left-side thumb safety off the frame, and it worked well without marring the gun's finish. Then flipped to the square side of the tool to compress the thumb safety plunger while installing the replacement left-side thumb safety. Effective and useful tool.
