The chisel end of the tool can be used to pull the 1911 extractor from the slide without scratching the finish. Some extractor hooks are wide enough to catch the breech face during removal. Use the chisel tip of the tool to push the hook past the breech face without any risk of marring the parts. Use the flat blade end of the tool to pop the safety plunger back in during installation of the thumb safety. The blade end can also help during field stripping of the M16 bolt. Use the tool to help start the firing pin retaining pin out of the bolt carrier. The blade end can be used to flip down the sear disconnect lever to field strip the S&W M&P. I know that $20 punch set from Amazon has served you reasonably well but you'll be so much better off prying and picking at things with this $8 dingus if you don't want to leave scrapes, dents, and wear on your stuff. Don't tell Hilton but I've also used it to scratch my back and occasionally pick my nose so it is truly multi-purpose.

Handy little thingamajig. Lotsa uses. Bought one a couple years ago. Liked it alot. Bought two this time so if in my absentmindedness I misplace one, I'll still have another or two I can use.

Great for 1911 extractors and safeties. Keeps from marring my finish. Highly recommend.

    A very handy little tool!

I bought two of these so I'd have one on my bench and one in my range bag.

    10-8 Review

Item is a little flimsy. I feel it will eventually break when using it. I feel it should have been a little more sturdy. I believe it could have been made out of other materials that would hold up better with continued use.

It's the perfect, non-scratching tool for working on your 1911... Awesome!

Had to rebuy as I think my dog ate the other one---love this tool for certain things on my 1911----keep them away from chewing dogs--lol

    Great Tool

Just what I needed to not scratch my gun. Ordered two
