Description

The Armorer Block is the culmination of years of tinkering on the 1911 and getting by with a box of tools and fixtures that didn't quite do what I wanted.

This 4"x4"x1.25" block is CNC machined from super tough nylon, and will give years of service.  Whatever you might wish to do to your 1911 or 2011 using hand tools, this block will help you do it. The block comes with removable hammer and sear fixture pins.

Some of the built in features of the block (see photo gallery):

  • Hold barrel for link pin removal/installation
  • Thumb safety fitting, clearance cut, and detent face tuning
  • Mainspring housing assembly/disassembly and MSH cap pin holding
  • Hammer/sear engagement observation
  • Hammer link pin removal
  • 2011 Spring guide disassembly/reassembly
  • 2011 Grip Rest for MSH pin removal
  • 2011 Frame rest for grip module removal
  • 1911 Frame holding on either side, via grip screw bushings, with plunger tube and mag catch clearance

This block is so handy it is even used by Colt in their 1911 armorer courses!

**Not compatible with Officer's/Defender, EMP, and other shortened 1911 single stack frames.

    Armorer block

Just started frame work on my Springfield Garrison. The block was great for holding the frame as I stoned the rails. This was as far as I got using it. The block is well thought out and very nicely made!

    Good, solid, practical tool!

First of all, although I was an armorer with the military for some time, that time was with small arms like the M9 Pistol, M4 Carbine, M249 SAW, M16 Rifle and M203 40mm Grenade Launcher, so this was my first experience doing a full tear-down on a 1911 (and one that was over a century old, to boot!) After researching tools, I went with the recommendation of this particular block, and I am glad I did! It is a good quality tool, that made removing pins, etc, MUCH less stressful for a neophyte like myself. Proper tools make the job MUCH easier, and that's what I got with this product. Thank you very much! Keep up the good work!

    Armorer Block, 1911/2011

Pretty decent block! The jig for fitting the thumb safety is priceless and worth the price alone. Made fitting the sear engagement a breeze.

    10-8 1911 armorer's block

Pricey, but a quantum leap above any other 1911 blocks I've tried or seen. I like the "square the wagons" design rather than (round blocks) "circling" them. Makes it much easier for filing safeties to fit and the larger surface area helps a lot for other jobs. This is definitely my go to block now. Maybe in a pinch, I can use the round one I have for a hockey puck!

    Bench Block

Very nice tool for working on 1911 pistols. Doesn't mark up the finish and seems well thought out. I especially appreciated the thumb safety positioning for filing alignment! Clever feature!! Well worth the $$ even if it doesn't get used that often, for me anyways!! Like to see a way to store the trigger pins so I don't lose them<<

    Block

Like many, I have a couple of blocks on the bench but ended up getting this one as the most recent. It's a block that replaces the rest. Well executed, seems to last and it's been great for my 1911 work. Easily fit thumb safeties with the cut out etc.
