Description

1911 Spring Guide. GI format spring guide with beveled head to prevent damage to lower lugs of barrel. Head geometry and dimensions are optimized for correct slide travel, even with common buffers installed. Heavily tumbled to remove sharp edges. Stainless steel, natural finish. Fits all Government Model sized 1911s (5" barrel) and clones in all calibers. Does NOT fit Commander or smaller size 1911s.

    Quality equipment.

    Well made item, dropped in with no fitting, works great in my TRP.

    Great Product

    Purchased to replace the factory unit in a Springfield Professional. While the factory unit is in fact beveled, the bevel on the 10-8 unit is very steep, and extremely smooth, so if the unit dislodged and struck the lower lugs, it would definitely deflect upwards. At 22gm, the 10-8 spring guide is double the weight of the factory unit, which some may or may not find beneficial. In my case, this unit seated on the barrel correctly, and did not require fitting.

    Clever idea...

    Simple part with a simple update. Definitely exhibits the tried and true 10-8 Performance detailed high quality. Minor fitting required, most likely, as it would not seat on my barrel out of package. I needed to file the sides until it fit. Be sure to take equal amounts off of each side. Also, I needed to polish the guide itself to maintain smooth spring operation.

    Well built.

    I bought Spring Guide because of the beveled head and hope it will extend the life of my Range Officer. Some minor fitting was required, but you don't buy a 1911 and expect to use drop in parts. If you want drop in get a Glock. Ran it during a local IDPA match with no problems.

    Why Didn't I Think Of That

    Great product to cure a real ongoing problem, especially for high round count shooters. Well done.

    A Part Long Overdue ! {Given Own Experience !}

    Sure could have used this when got own 1st. high-end Govt. Model 20 + years ago ! Had to "clean-up" the OEM one as it soon became chewed-up ! Never was sure exactly why/how it wound up that way !
