*While this part is a drop in fit in many pistols, gunsmith fitting may be required on some guns. The .200" (nominal) diameter pin is typically bigger than your factory unit (they tend to run .195-.199") and may not fit into the frame hole. The larger diameter pin can create a tighter lockup with the barrel's lower lugs, sometimes such that the gun will not go into battery without gunsmith fitting.
**A popular question is "will this fit in my XXX 1911." As above, every single 1911 will be a little different, and may or may not require gunsmith fitting.
***This part was the OEM slide stop for the Staccato 2011's from 2018-2020, and their current slide stop has a similarly shaped lever. As much as we'd like to sell you a slide stop, you may not gain much from fitting a 10-8 slide stop to a current Staccato. Further, the Staccato factory machines the barrel lugs to the slide stop in your gun, so that they are dimensionally matched for optimum lockup and accuracy. You cannot simply drop in a new slide stop into your Staccato, and doing so may likely result in a fit inferior to the factory's work. For users new to the 1911/2011, the slide stop is to be depressed with the support hand during the reload, and this lever does not extend to the rear to make your gun like a Glock.

Fits all 1911 pattern pistols, including Govt/Commander/Officer sizes and 2011/Caspian/Para double column frames. Also fits Springfield EMP, which will accept the 9/.38/.40 versions.
.45 ACP version has .200" lobe protrusion.
9mm/.38/.40 version has .220" lobe protrusion. **All calibers other than .45 will use 9/.38 slide stop**
Machined from bar stock and heat treated.
Carbon steel version has matte black phosphate finish.
Stainless Steel version has matte bead blast finish.

Worthy part, go for it!
This is a great part...it's designed well, looks great, and works great. It is truly a drop-in part and sits on all my Colt 1911s. This has become a no-brainer part for all of my guns. They are sturdy and well worth the dough. It's a simple and good-looking fix to make the 1911 easier to manipulate and saves time during competition when you have a "brain fart" and let the gun go dry.

Small part, Big difference
It's amazing how big a difference this little part made in the feel of the pistol during quick reloads with the thumb shelf, especially combined with the 10-8 scoop grips for magazine ejection. It did require some fitting with my SW1911 where it rides against the internal portion of the slide rail, but now it feels great and definitely serves its purpose well. A very finely machined part. I'll likely buy another as a spare.

perfectly machined part
i got this for my para hicap bobtail custom, fit was near perfect just had to take off a tiny bit for the mag, the best slide stop ive ever seen. ordering another for my springer/colt hybrid custom!

Looks great, but poor fitment
Part is well made but unfortunately does not fit well in my S&W 1911PD. It binds against the frame and is extremely difficult to disengage with the slide locked back.

Didn't think I'd like these
I was sure that the price of these slide stops would not be justified. Boy was I wrong! I have been buying cheap ones for many builds I've done, polishing them or bead-blasting them to make them look good. The 10-8 product blew me away. I've since bought 2 more and have plans to send all my pistols off with these. Drop-in fit, never lock-back inappropriately, always allow mags to drop free, large shelf. Great product!

Common sense upgrade
I have been a fan of Hilton Yam's products and thought process for a long while. As a former police officer, I was privileged to carry the 1911 as my primary duty weapon. I have also had the opportunity to train with some of the best out there, who also have high praise for Mr. Yam. After using his upgraded flat trigger and magainse release, I was intrigued by his update on the slide release. The angled engagement surface to facilitate re-assemble is a welcome upgrade. While "idiot marks" can happen in the best of hands, this upgrade makes that mark less of a possiblity. The additional shelf area on the engagement surface is intuitive. I'm frankly suprised no one else has done this. All in all, this slide release is well thought out and executed with the standards I've come to expect with Mr. Yam's products. I'm looking forward to his next suprise.
