HK Dovetail Front Sight, for all calibers of HK45/45c/P30/P30L series and VP9. Our front sights are made from hardened 4140 bar stock for improved durability. Dovetail base is oversized for fitting, in order to accommodate variation in production dimensions. Blade is .150" high, serrated 40lpi.
- Fits: HK45, HK45c, P30, P30L, VP9
Finished in black salt bath nitrocarburizing, equivalent to the factory finish on the slide, for superior hardness and corrosion resistance.
Choose from fiber optic in .125" or .115" width (.060" diameter fiber optic rod in red & green is included, domed area is up to .075" diameter when installed).
User installable with hand tools only.
HK has several front sight heights, but one with a blade height of .165” is commonly installed at the factory. Ours is .150” to correct the lower POI on the earlier production guns and seems to work well on most customer guns.
This sight DOES NOT FIT nor can it be made to fit HK USP, P2000 series, P7, etc. pistols.
ReviewsLarry C. in CTA few minutes work on the hardened front sight base with an inexpensive diamond grit porcelain tile file from a big box home improvement store was all it took to obtain a perfect fit in the factory dovetail on my HK P30. I went with the green fiber optic for my eyes. It's a big improvement over the factory luminescent sights. My group sizes shrunk significantly. I'm very pleased with the results!Gerald
Great sight but could be beefierI love 10-8 sights and esp the fiber optic front and black serated rears but one thing I have noticed is the fiber optic fronts are pretty easy to break. The first set I had a dropped my gun after I tripped while running during a competition and the front sight completely broke off. The second set I had I went to install with a nylon punch and dead blow hammer and that one broke as well before I could even use it. So far two fiber optic front sights broke. While I will admit the second could be seen as user error, still I’ve never had any issues with other companies fiber optic fronts. Just wish 10-8 would make them a little beefier. **RESPONSE FROM 10-8: Sorry about the sight issues. We've had a number of customers break the fiber optic sight blades by striking them with their punch during install. The blades are tough during normal use, but the channel for the fiber can only be so robust at .125" max width and still let in light.Michael f lige
great sightpoint of aim was right on thaksKevin
Way too much fitting involved for HK'sI love 10-8 products. Have put the rear sight on almost every pistol I own. The rear sight is usually close with only minor fitting involved. However I've done two fronts now and way too much fitting is involved. I understand oversized for fitting but these are annoying and way too time consuming.
Perfect FO Front SightThis is the perfect FO front sight. I chose the .125 sight for quick sight acquisition at 15 yards and closer. It has a bright FO that is fast to pick up, but is not so bright as to obscure the sharp image of the corners and top of the sight. Despite the sharp corners, it does no snag the holster.Steve
Nice change from factory sights.I changed to 10-8 performance sights on my VP9 as I did not like the factory sights with three green dots all the same size. With 10-8 plain black rear sights and fiber optic front sight I now have a set of sights that are easier for me to put on target quickly. I ordered and installed the rear sight first as the front sight was out of stock. It worked well with the stock front sight in terms of POA/POI. Once I was notified the front sight was in stock I ordered and installed it. I was able to remove the factory sights and install the 10-8 sights without a sight pusher. You just have to be patient and in my case I did have to file the rear sight a little in order to fit it in. I would have given 5 stars if the front sight had come with a little more fiber optic rod. It comes with both red and green rod but only enough of each for one replacement on each color.S.C.
Fast front sightAs I've noticed with 10-8 sights, the finish is great, and it is a well built sight. I paired a .115 fiber optic front with a .140 rear for my HK45C. It's much better than the factory glow-in-the-dark sights, with fast acquisition, and good enough for stacking rounds at closer range. I particularly like the narrower front for shooting from the 25 yard line, as it doesn't completely obscure a standard size silhouette target. The finish was great, the fiber easily installed and bright. My smith said it did require minor fitting, but that there were no issues. Much like the 10-8 sights I have on my M&Ps and TRP (just rear), they're top notch. I wish I had more guns that needed sights that 10-8 makes. Also, I would compare them to the Wilson/Vickers Glock sights (they're similar, granted for different guns), which work fine and seem sturdy, but the finish on the Wilson/Vickers(not sure what it's called) seems more powdery and more easily scuffed and scratched. Also, the 10-8 sights are smoother around the edges (while still leaving an adequate shelf for one-handed manipulations), and they don't dig into your skin and scrape you if you're carrying close to the body, but the Wilson's/Vickers will. I would definitely choose the 10-8 sights, especially if I were going to use them for concealed carry.Eric Moss
Nice bright fiber optic sight!I originally wanted the brass bead sight but due to the backorder I thought I'd give the fiber optic a try. This is my first fiber optic sight and likely won't be my last. Very nice and bright and easy to pick up when paired w/the 10-8 U-Notch rear sight. This required a bit more fitting for my H&K VP9 but wasn't too bad. I like the 'extra' metal over the top of the fiber optic rod to give a little more protection... this isn't present on a lot of other front FO sights I've seen. Another fine product from 10-8!Rouel
HK brass bead front sightsBeautiful upgrade for my VP9. I have tritium front sights on most of my pistols so I was a bit unsure if I would like the brass bead, but I took the plunge anyway. Needless to say I was very satisfied with it - very simple, elegant, and functional. It catches light from anything behind the sight. It did require a bit of fitting but it was well worth the effort.Mike C.
Best sights out there hands down for my H&K VP9.I ordered the tritium front sight for my H&K VP9 and I love it. Very little fitting was necessary, just a few passes with a good bastard file did the trick. My sights look and feel very sturdy. Sight picture is clean, serrations really cut down on glare. I like the single dot tritium also, it took a little getting used to but the sight picture is much less cluttered than with the three dot systems helping with accuracy. Low light shooting is a breeze. All I can say is I love these sights, thanks 10-8 for making a great product for a very reasonable price. I can't wait to get these on the rest of my guns. P.S. Please hurry up and get these out for the G42 my wife won't leave me alone about getting her a pair.
