Rear sight for the S&W M&P Shield, fits all Shield models including 9/.40 and .45. These sights are precision CNC machined from prehardened 4140 bar stock, and are designed to withstand the rigors of hard duty use. The sight features a U notch for fast alignment with tritium dot or brass bead front sights. The rear face is serrated at 40 lpi to reduce glare in varied lighting conditions. The sight blade is thick enough to allow setting tritium vials as dots or bars if one so chooses, and is contoured and dehorned for comfortable handling and carry. Finished in black salt bath nitrocarburizing, equivalent to the factory finish on the slide, for superior hardness and corrosion resistance.
The rear sight is compatible in height with the factory front sight (.160" tall x .140" wide), and can also be used in conjunction with our M&P front sights. Rear sight height is identical to the factory sight, and will not change point of impact.

I have a Big Dot XS Tritium front sight on my Shield and this rear sight complements the front sight perfectly. Also it's made w good quality. I do feel the price was a little high but considering I had no issues installing it I could overlook the cost. I got the .156 because of the size of my front sight.

Have this on my full size M&P9, just purchased same one for my Shield. Both in .156. I have a 10-8 brass bead on both as well - love this setup. Tempted to try the fiber optic too, but really enjoy the simplicity and sight picture of a brass bead with a plain black rear.

What can I say, I just love this thing. Takes the distraction from the rear sight, and makes you focus on your front sight. Also great for one handed combat. Thanks again!

I got these in the mail the other day and installed them. Did have to file a little bit off the sight to get it started. I probably could have filed a little more but worried the cut in the slide might not be true. So instead of going too much I went for less. Using a slide pusher (which I highly recommend for anyone who is a DIYer) and some gun oil to help slide them along, I got them centered and set. Tightened the set screw and viola! They do make a difference in establishing a quick sight picture. Instead of lining up three dots, I am lining up one and getting on target that much faster. Will be putting these on the rest of my handguns.

The sights are dead nuts on. What more can one ask for.

Installed easily and lined up perfectly with rear of the slide. Should have been an OEM part!

Just put this on new Shield this morning. Fit and finish are perfect. I was lucky enough to not have to file the sight for installation. The sight picture is much faster than the factory sights. There is no struggling to line up dots and my eye automatically focuses on the front sight. I paired the .156 notch with a .140 wide Tritium front sight with a Lime green ring around it and cant believe how well this combination works. The paint ring fits perfectly in the "U". Thanks for building great products.

Great sight, very well built! I will be adding fiber optic front sight very soon.

The 10-8 rear sight for the M&P Shield proves to be a great option for those who like black-out rear sights. It does its job by allowing your eyes to jump straight to the front sight, and keeps visual distraction to a minimum. The fit and finish are superb. I've purchased other sights that have scratches and nicks on them after only a few days of use or carrying. I intended to only purchase the rear sight as it's completely compatible with the factory Shield front sight (or in other words, for economic reasons). However, after seeing the quality and attention to detail put into rear sight, I don't see myself sticking to that plan for much longer.
