Original S&W magazine base pad retainer plate for M&P .45 or 9mm/40/357, all frame sizes. This original style retainer plate ("aka Magazine Butt Plate Catch" in factory parlance) may be necessary to run certain 10-8 base pads on the 9/40/357 magazines with mismatched retainer plates.
**The S&W M&P VTAC model uses a round hole retainer plate, which is no longer compatible with our current generation of 10-8 base pad. Order a "square hole" retainer plate for your VTAC magazine.

I really need 6 3rd generation square 9mm base plate retainers. I will trade metal round hole types WITH original base plates thrown in, or will purchase them outright. Thank yuo.

I used these retainer plates with the round peg to make my new M&P mags with the square hole mag plates accept older style round hole mag plates. Shipping was very fast. Fit was excellent. However, website list price needs to be updated. I was charged more than double the listed price at checkout.

Just a good ole fashioned retainer pad. Does the job, fits the round hole base pads. Very convenient for 10-8 to stock these, when they are available, for order and use. Thanks!

Recently purchased these older style base pad retainers for my Smith & Wesson .40 M&P magazines. I needed this style in order to use the aluminum base plates that are found on this site. These base pad retainers fit perfectly into my existing M&P mags that used the different style retainers. Great Price too!

I used the locking tabs to retro fit square holed black base plates to round hole FDE Base plates...S&W took 2 months to ship replacement FDE base plates(completely missing the part where I asked to include the locking tabs):( I wasn't waiting another 2 months)...found 10-8 and they had the locking tabs at my door in 4 days;)
Definitely use 10-8 again!
PS check out the Aluminum Base plates on this site.
