Loading... Please wait...Our second generation slide stop is totally reengineered to provide you a whole new level of functionality. Machined out of bar stock and heat treated for durability, the slide stop features a long wide pad with aggressive serrations for positive purchase of your thumb during slide lock reloads. The interior of the lobe is angled to ease installation, and easily pushes past the detent plunger without any wrestling or risk of scratching your gun. The engagement surfaces are optimized for positive lockback with your magazines, and full engagement in the slide stop notch in the slide. The lobe is set up for positive disengagement when pulling the slide to the rear in a "slingshot" manner. It is not necessary to cut a detent for the slide stop to keep it from bouncing in recoil, as the geometry keeps the stop cammed downward by the spring tension of the detent plunger. The .200" diameter pin improves lockup of the barrel's lower lugs.
Fits all 1911 pattern pistols.
.45 ACP version has .200" lobe protrusion.
9mm/.38/.40 version has .220" lobe protrusion. **All calibers other than .45 will use 9/.38 slide stop**
Carbon steel version has black oxide finish.
Stainless Steel version has matte bead blast finish.
**While this part is a drop in fit in most pistols, gunsmith fitting may be required on some guns. The .200" diameter pin may be bigger than your factory unit (they tend to run .198-.199") and may not drop right into the frame hole or may create a tighter lockup with the barrel's lower lugs.**

Solved the problem of slide lock back after the final round on one of my new pistols. Also, the angled lobe made it a lot easier installing it without a tool pushing back the detent plunger - thus also avoiding the "idiot scratch."

I took advantage of a sale recently and added a slide stop. I have a used Springfield Champion that I was thinking of installing it in. It dramatically improved how my gun functioned. the gun had been bubba gun smithed by it's previous owner and had the cheapest John Masen looking slide stop on it. A quick re-radius of the top of the head to clear the notch in my frame was all it needed to fit. Improved the guns slide/barrel fit after installation. Since buying the first one, I have added 3 more to other guns of mine. Very well made product and I will use them in all my future guns.

Extremely well machined with tight tolerances and great finish. Required minor fitting of notch but that's what you want so you can obtain a perfect fit in your firearm. The enhanced pad is the perfect size, slightly bigger but not obtrusive.

I am a newbie to 1911s (my other handguns are all SIG P-Series), so I was afraid of dragging the slide stop on the frames of my Ruger SR1911 (Govt) and Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm (commander). Both of these pistols' stock slide stops were not relieved to easily install over the slide stop pin without dragging on the frame. The 10-8 slide stop makes takedown and reassembly much less nerve wraking for a newbie. I no longer fear the idiot mark!

A well designed and perfectly machined slide stop is vital for any competitive shooter running a 1911. Hilton's "Gen 2" slide stop has performed perfectly each and every time and shaved precious seconds off my tactical reloads. Few 1911 parts I've tried have been better designed, perfectly machined and more beautifully finished than the "Gen 2" slide stop.
In fact, I've found this design to be so reliable in competition that I've replaced the slide stop on my (brand new Kimber Super Carry Pro HD) primary carry weapon as well. I just wish the rest of my firearm looked so good!

Excellent part, dropped right in my American Classic II. Well worth the price, you won't be disappointed.

What I can say for sure is the part is top quality, drops right in and is smooth as glass.
With an empty magazine the slide is hard to disengage, but slide a loaded magazine in and it is like butter.

This is a great part...it's designed well, looks great, and works great. It is truly a drop-in part and sits on all my Colt 1911s. This has become a no-brainer part for all of my guns. They are sturdy and well worth the dough. It's a simple and good-looking fix to make the 1911 easier to manipulate and saves time during competition when you have a "brain fart" and let the gun go dry.

It's amazing how big a difference this little part made in the feel of the pistol during quick reloads with the thumb shelf, especially combined with the 10-8 scoop grips for magazine ejection. It did require some fitting with my SW1911 where it rides against the internal portion of the slide rail, but now it feels great and definitely serves its purpose well. A very finely machined part. I'll likely buy another as a spare.
