Thanks for your interest in 10-8 Performance.  Our website is kept up to date and is filled with very detailed information about our product line.  We get a large volume of emails and kindly ask that you first review the below listed FAQ so that we may provide the best quality answer to your questions.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you provide gunsmithing services?

Please note that we do not provide gunsmithing services of any type.  If you are looking for custom 1911 work and sight installs, we recommend Springfield Armory Custom Shop or Jim Milks (formerly of EGW) at Innovative Custom Guns.  For work on polymer pistols such as the Glock and S&W M&P, we recommend Boresight Solutions.

Are your rear sights available with tritium?

No.  By design, our rear sight is meant to guide your eye to the front sight and limit distraction at the rear sighting plane.  With practice, it is possible to be quite successful in low light with only a front tritium insert.  If you wish to have tritium inserts installed into your sight, you can send it to Tooltech Gunsight.

What height are my sights?

We really don't know for sure. It is not possible for us to keep track of what sight heights are used by every manufacturer on each of their models.  The only way to be 100% sure what you have is to measure the sights on YOUR gun.  If you do not own calipers or know how to measure them, you local gunshop or smith should be able to help.

What height should I use on my gun?

As above, it is impossible for us to predict what you have going on with your particular gun.  Please review the product page for your desired sight, as each product's page has detailed information regarding sight heights for that platform.  If you still need some help getting set up properly, we would need to know your existing front and rear sight heights as well as the relationship between point of impact and point of aim at 25 yards.  Sighting in at 7 yards is unfortunately not a sufficient measure.

Do your sights fit my (fill in pistol here)?

Our website has extremely comprehensive resources to determine compatibility with your pistol.   Please check the Sights page for information.  If your weapon platform is not listed, we do not currently make sights for it.  If your 1911 is not listed on a particular product page, it may be best to consult the manufacturer to see what dovetail dimensions they use as we are not able to keep track of what all the different manufacturers use.

Do your 1911 rear sights work with my (fill in brand/type) front sight?

Our 1911 02 and 0201 series sights are a direct replacement for the Novak(r) LoMount rear sight, and will work with any front sight that was originally paired with the LoMount rear.

Which of your sights work with XS Sights?

Please keep in mind that XS Big Dot and Standard Dot sights are specifically designed to be used with their V style express rear and any notch sight will be somewhat of a compromise.  Our .156" notch sights are the best choice, and we suggest pairing them with the Standard Dot front in order to have some light on either side of the front dot.  The Big Dots will work as well, but the sight picture will be a bit tighter in the notch.  Please note that we do not able to guarantee any particular point of impact with the combination of our rear and XS front, as their front sights are only available in one height per gun model.

I would like to use Brand (x) front/rear sight with a 10-8 front/rear sight on my Glock.  Will this work?

Our rear sights are compatible with any aftermarket front sight of .215”-.250” height and width similar or less than the rear notch.  They are not compatible in elevation or notch width with the Glock/Trijicon/TruDot/Meprolight factory front sights, which are too low.  Unless you have measured the sight yourself and are sure of the dimensions, we do not suggest nor guarantee the results of any "mix and match" setups on your Glock.

Will your parts drop into my 1911?

The only parts on a 1911 that we are reasonably confident will drop into your gun are the grip screws. Keep in mind that 100 years of production by countless manufacturers has resulted in wide variations in dimensions. If you are not confident in the installation of your new parts, we highly recommend that you take them to a qualified gunsmith for assistance.

How can I order the mag well and grip safety that I saw on the Alpha, Bravo, and Echo builds?

Sorry, but the 10-8 magazine well and machined grip safety are reserved for 10-8 Performance built 1911s only.

**A NOTICE ABOUT PHONE CALLS - PLEASE READ**

Please note that our work load typically prohibits taking the time to field questions via telephone, so we use the phone system primarily as a way of receiving voice messages.  We have found that a much more efficient way for us to communicate with our valued customers is via email, as we each get a very clear hard copy of what you need, and no time is wasted playing phone tag.  We respond to email messages very promptly.
