Product Description

The 10-8 Performance rear sight is precision CNC machined from heat treated 4140 bar stock to better resist the nicking and denting that is typical with the wear and tear of daily carry. All 10-8 sights feature a U notch for rapid, intuitive alignment with dot style front sights such as our tritium inserts and brass beads. The rear face is serrated at 40 lpi to reduce glare in varied lighting conditions. Plain black blade, finished in matte black oxide.

Our sight set for the Kimber 1911 features a .360" tall rear sight with a .125" deep U notch which is compatible with all Kimber fixed sight pistols (not compatible with the commercial SIS family pistols).  Our rear sight is a direct replacement for the forward slanting rear sights found on the current production Series II pistols, and will not affect point of impact when used with the factory front sight.  The original rearward slanting sights on the pre-Series II guns (approximately .325" height) and the wedge shaped sights on the Warrior series (approximately .345" height) have the same dovetail, but our rear sight will raise the point of impact (if used with the existing factory front sight) by approximately 5" and 2" respectively at 25 yards in the 5" barrel models.  User installable (with some hand fitting), no machining required.

Available with .140" or .156" wide U notch.

  1. Best addition to my Kimber

Posted by Bill on 28th Feb 2012

I recently got a set of 10-8 sights with a brass bead for my Kimber(s) after first trying them out on a M&P pistol of mine (same combo brass bead front). The ease of finding the front sight with the notch .140 notch has improved my shooting tremendously. I acquire the target faster and keep on target beter for follow up shots. Great product, just like all the other 10-8 products!

  2. Great Sights

I recently used these sights at a Kyle Defoor class, and they were simply awesome. Performing one-handed manipulations was a breeze.
