I have been using Springfield Custom Shop products extensively for about 7 years now, and have found that the consistency
of their quality control has been extraordinary. Whether it’s 1 gun or 10, each gun is as cleanly executed as the last.
I am proud to present the Springfield 10-8 Operator, an exclusive limited run collaboration between 10-8 Performance and
Dave Williams' reknowned Springfield Custom shop. This gun answers the call for a more affordable but highly capable duty
ready 1911.
This pistol bridges the gap between the production TRP grade guns and the Custom Shop’s full blown builds. The pistol
starts with a matched slide and frame set, hand selected for optimum fit. These pistols are built from scratch in
the Custom Shop by Springfield’s expert smiths, and feature FIVE times the hand work and fitting of the production TRP
(which is NOT built in the Custom Shop). This attention results in a pistol that compares very favorably in overall
fit, form, and function with the Professional Model with Light Rail. They are truly special and an exceptional value at any

The 2008-1 limited run of the pistol will have the following features:
-Springfield Operator frame with shortened dust cover
-Front and rear cocking serrations on slide
-Springfield one piece stainless barrel, with stainless barrel bushing.
-Standard GI spec guide rod/plug
-20 lpi front strap checkering
-Springfield Armory Swenson style ambi safety
-Machined tool steel sear with 4-4.5lb trigger job
-Flat head grip screws & mag catch lock
-10-8 Performance rear sight, .325” height LoMount dovetail, .125” U notch
-Springfield front sight, serrated ramp, tritium insert without outline
-10-8 Performance flat trigger or lightened curved trigger
-10-8 Performance laser logo grips, green/black Micarta
-10-8 Performance extended magazine catch
-10-8 Performance slide stop
-Mag well – flat Smith & Alexander with specially modified low profile lanyard loop, machine checkered 20lpi, fit
flush to bottom of frame via custom drilled MSH pin hole (this is the same type of mag well treatment on the Professional
model)
-Black Armory Kote finish
Each pistol comes with two (2) Springfield OEM 7 round magazines, four (4) Chip McCormick Powermag 8 round magazines with
the .350” bumper pads, a 10-8 patch, a 25ml bottle of 10-8 Lube, and a 10-8 Armorer Tool.
Common questions regarding this gun typically revolve around comparisons to the readily available TRP and Professional Models.
The 10-8 Operator features an improved beavertail fit over the TRP, and also has an upgraded machined tool steel sear. This
pistol does not have the match fit barrel of the Professional. The 10-8 Operator is finished in Armory Kote like the TRP,
instead of Black T like the Pro.
