The original 10-8 Performance 1911 trigger (Trigger01) was co-designed by Hilton Yam and Larry Vickers for the rigors of duty
use. Derived from the proven Videki design, the trigger features a solid aluminum shoe, a full width stainless steel bow,
and a fixed stainless steel overtravel stop permanently mounted from the rear of the shoe. This trigger eliminates all issues
associated with loose overtravel screws -- no staking, Loctite, or other end user monitoring is necessary. Once the overtravel
is set, it is good to go for the life of the trigger. The shoe and bow are not lightened or skeletonized, and retain their
full structural integrity for maximum durability and service life. This trigger is featured as the standard trigger in the
Nighthawk Custom 10-8 and Vickers Tactical 1911s, as well as appearing on several runs of Springfield Custom Shop 1911s.
The next trigger in the family is the flat trigger (Trigger02) which features the same robust design as the original, but
with a flat serrated trigger face. The length of pull is the same as the shortest portion of the standard long trigger, but
the trigger feels shorter due to the lack of curvature. This design provides a consistent trigger feel no matter where you
acquire the trigger face, and is preferred by many top shooters. This competition proven concept has now been executed in
a duty ready format.
The newest trigger in the lineup, a long curved trigger with internal lightening (Trigger03), came about with the input of
Springfield Custom Shop director Dave Williams, who suggested lightening the original trigger to reduce trigger bounce. Two
hidden internal lightening cuts were added, one each at the top and bottom of the shoe, which reduce the overall trigger weight
by 10 grains (2 grams). This trigger is just as rugged as the original, but gives gunsmiths more flexibility in trigger pull
weight and hammer/sear geometry.
