  1. excellent front sight 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Nov 2014

I used the .125" wide .160" high front on my M&P 45 4.5" along with the .156" notch rear sight. POA/POI stayed consistent with the factory sights and brass bead is quickly picked up with the blacked out rear sight.

The front dovetail on my M&P was rather tight so I ended up taking a good bit off the sight with an EZE Lap medium hone as suggested in the installation video. I took enough off that the sight could be hand pressed to just about cover the 'U' shaped relief machined in the bottom of the slide's dovetail.

The only thing I did different than in the video was once the new sight was tapped flush with the slide, I used the EZE Lap hone to undersize the factory front sight. Then I used that to finished driving the new sight into place instead of a drift punch (almost no chance to ding up the end of the new sight).
