Springfield 1911 Front Sight, Fiber Optic

Springfield 1911 Front Sight, Fiber Optic

$45.50

Springfield 1911 Dovetail Front Sight, .078" x 60 degree dovetail. Precision CNC machined from hardened 4140 bar stock for improved durability and finished in black oxide. Blades feature a 40lpi serrated front face for reduction of glare in all lighting conditions.

Accepts .060" fiber optic rod (.075" diameter on blade face).  Comes with 1 each red and green fiber rods.

Fits ONLY Springfield Armory 1911. All Springfield 1911's use a .078" deep x 60 degree dovetail, but significant variations exist between models, individual guns, and years of production as far as the actual width of the dovetail, blade height, and presence of a vertical roll pin. In an effort to allow one sight to be able to work with all of these, we have chosen to use the most common current production height of .175" and provide an oversized dovetail. The dovetail will need to be fit to the individual gun with a 60 degree dovetail file.

    Great sight!

Awesome sight! My gunsmith installed it without a hitch on my Colt Series 70. It works perfectly with my 10-8 Low Mount rear sight ( .125", std height )

    All good parts

I use 10-8 parts exclusively...all hold up great. My friends front sight of a different brand. I cut a small piece of card stock under size to the sight base, drifted it in doused in locktite. Helps tighten fit.

    Good front sight option

Ordered this for my Ruger 1911. It fit the factory dovetail perfectly. Just had to file a very small amount under the rear edge to clear the slide. Nice sight picture with plain wide notch rear. Very satisfied!

Very loose fit in my Les Baer

We drilled out the pin on my Les Baer TRS front sight and drifted it out. Turns out the new 10-8 FO front sight was a very loose fit in the dovetail. We used green Loctite to help secure it and drove the new pin in. I wish the sight had been a tighter fit, but it seems secure now. It sure is bright bright green in both shade and sunlight!

    1911 Brass Bead Front Sight

Not being a fan of 3 dot sights I replaced the front sight on my AC Commander with this sight. The brass bead is an eye catcher and tends to draw your focus to the front sight (a good thing). Combined with 10-8's low mount rear sight (plain black - no dots) and you have it all.

    1911 Gold Bead Front Sight

I am a "BIG FAN" of 10-8 Performance products and the 1911 gold bead front sight is no exception. I finally received my Springer Mil-Spec back from the smith and "WOW" what a difference. I have it matched up with the 10-8 Mil rear sight and together they are awesome. Love those sights. Keep up the good work 10-8!

Gold Bead Front _U Notch Rear for 1911

At 50, my eyes aren't the best but they certainly can pick up the gold bead on this front sight in the dimmest of light. Since there's no light rail on my Les Baer 1911 and I would be using my Surefire in the weak hand, night sights weren't of no real benefit during the day over the gold bead. Love it. As with anything...practice! I go to the range at least twice a month to train with my firearms as well as perform home scenario drills with my wife. You don't want your first experience to be the with the bad guy. Buy this setup!

    Great All Around Sight

I ordered the Brass Bead Front Sight for my Retro 1911 Build. Excellent quality. Works in a wide range of conditions. Helps older eyes in both day and night conditions.

New sights for an old favorite project 1911

I have a Rock Island Tactical I've used for a number of years. I've used it as a project gun by adding quality parts as I see proven designs. I decided to add 10-8 front and rear sights and now have them installed. The dovetail on an RIA does not fit the 10-8 configuration but after a bit of file work and polishing they are nicely fitted. In short I doubt I'll use any other sights from now on. The fiber optic is very well made and aids a great deal in concentrating on that front sight when used with the 10-8 rear sight with a .140 notch. It sure has speeded up my target acquisition!
